This is the best book on depression I’ve ever read! It really opened my eyes to what depression is all about and has helped me find treatment that is working for me.

Dr. Burgess, a psychiatrist and psychotherapist, based his book on actual questions his patients ask him, so it really explains things I want to know – and his answers are down to earth and clear. He covers all the options for conquering depression, from medications to therapy to meditation and support from friends and family. Reading the book, I felt like he cares about people and is able to help them. If you are depressed or know anyone who is or wonders if he is, don’t miss this book!

Comprehensive, authoritative, forthright–this book not only answers questions it also poses important questions I never thought to ask. Reading it, you get the feeling you’re listening to somebody who really knows depression both from the clnical side and also the personal side, and who has a lot of sensible answers. Finding what you want to know is easy: The chapters organize the material into logical sections, and the questions–which are in bold, throughout the text–help you find what you’re looking for without wasting time on what you’re not interested in. I’d recommend this book to anyone with depression or who has friends or family with depression.
